Role: Creative Lead and Art Direction
Brief: Introduce the Nike audience to Nike’s hero athletes before they play in the World Cup 2019.
Output: Instagram Stories, Athlete Photos
We developed a social campaign for the upcoming football World Cup, to give followers an insight into the athletes that might not be on peoples radar, but who will light up the summer tournament.
We created 4 "Instazines", a magazine style format for Instagram stories. Each Instazine introduced you to the athlete, their playing style and the newly designed bespoke Nike Women’s football kit with the aim to inspire the next generation of iconic athletes.
Each of the 4 Instazines featured on @nikewomen and @nikefootball Instagram accounts as well as the athletes sharing it on their own stories too.
The art direction for each of the 4 players Instazine’s was inspired by the new Nike kit designs, textures and colours, with the animation giving a playful nod to the design and the fast-paced nature of football.
We were lucky enough to meet and shoot the athletes in the Estadi Olimpic in Barcelona where we captured some great content for the project.

Nike Women and Nike Football
We had limited access to the athletes, existing footage and videography, so we knew the animation had to work hard to grab the followers attention. We used speed burst photography to help make our images dynamic and interesting.
We worked closely with Nike photographer Lucas Garrido to take photos of our 4 hero athletes as well as other Nike athletes for Nike.com and social channels. Below are a few of those images.
